Any have thanks to politicians politics union to close all of industry by strike, bundh ,non coordination etc.punalur was the tourist hub, ayurvedic industryhub,plywoodindustryhub,lime stonepowderhub,,indoor outdoor film shooting hub till 70,s end.once punalur a ksrtc depo hub for interstate,sabarimala, tourist hub,Altogether now a poor populated city with no development.

First airport in kerala was in Kollam, later shift to trivandrum, so their to politicians wish to close the airport insted should have continue as a airport domestic.
